ARMEN MARTIROSYAN

Biography

Armen Martirosyan is a distinguished musical producer for the cultural project “Traditional Armenian Music Treasury” and a graduate of the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. From 1997 to 2010, he served as the artistic director and principal conductor of the Armenian State Jazz Orchestra, leading the ensemble through numerous festivals and collaborations with renowned artists like Chick Corea.

An accomplished composer and musician, Armen Martirosyan excels in a diverse range of genres including academic, jazz, fusion, ethnic, rock, and pop. With over 30 years of experience in composing, arranging, and producing music, he has been a pivotal force in shaping Armenian music. Since 2006, he has also been a key musical producer at Sharm Holding.

His contributions have been recognized with several prestigious awards: the Movses Khorenatsi Medal in 2003 for innovative achievements in Armenian culture, the Gold Medal by the Ministry of Culture and Youth of the Republic of Armenia in 2007, and the honorary title of “Honorary Worker of Art” in the same year. In 2008, the State Jazz Band of Armenia won the “Best Jazz Band” award at Armenia’s National Music Awards, and in 2013, Armen received an accolade for his impact on Armenian pop culture at the Armenia Music Awards in Moscow.

Traveling extensively and immersing himself in diverse cultures, Armen Martirosyan deeply values the preservation of national culture. In addition to his role as musical producer, he plays a crucial role in the creative development of projects.
